Forever Young

As a child I sometimes longed for the day I turned fourteen. The double digit age meant entering high school and joining the cheer squad. At the uneventful age of nineteen, I could hardly wait to turn twenty one. It was at twenty one that I entered a world of newfound freedom. Granted, that freedom was the right to purchase alcohol, but it was freedom nonetheless. Fast-forward four years to 2010, where I am freaking out about turning twenty five. There is nothing exciting about being twenty five. Luckily there is one activity that defies age and guarantees excitement - shopping! My first purchase from ASOS has helped fight my quarter-life crisis. This coral skater skirt exudes playfulness and youth; two traits I fear losing as I near a quarter century. Ok, so maybe I'm being dramatic, but I don't care. Turning twenty five is scary. Thankfully I have this whimsical skirt - and a big glass of red wine - to calm my nerves.

  2. Such a great skirt. Jeal.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's all downhill after 25!!! Hahaha.

  3. Trust me it gets so much better from 25! You see a little clear and really come into yourself. Are those shoes comfy? For some reason I don't trust F21 shoes.

  4. I agree with The Buxom and Beautiful...

For me being older has been pretty wonderful... I turned 30 last year and I do know myself a lot better than I did when I was 20... I also know know the baby greys in my hair that are showing up a little now my hair dye has washed out - are normal. I actually find them kind of comforting... 36 is how old Sharon Stone was in Basic Instinct. I thought she was pretty awesome in that. To be honest - I fear for 37 a little bit!

    Skirt is awesome. x.

  6. It's just a number. I feel like I did when I was in my Teens still. Ok the fun house mirror helps. Just had 52nd Birthday. Wait until you hit 50. The Dr has big surprise for you.

Enjoy life and don't worry about numbers.

  8. Your car insurance goes down when you turn 25, so there's THAT! :) I turn 30 in a couple of months, there's a "WHOAH!" birthday for you. I love this look! Those booties are amazing and I love the coral and black together.

  10. Aww..well, I think the skirt turns your outfit into a pretty princess party dress, so it works. :-)

And just think, 25 is the first year of the rest of your life.

  11. A cute wee skirt in a gorgeous colour.

I will be 38 in October. And once you get into your thirties, that number no longer becomes important and you're much more relaxed about it all. Turning 30 was the most traumatic year of my life, but now I can't understand why I got so worked up about it!

  12. I love the outfit, especially the skirt and the shoes <3 although I am only 19, since turning 18 I dread birthdays, getting older with nothing exciting to show for it.

  13. This is going to sound REALLY corny but your smile makes me smile! The skirt is a beautiful color on you, & I don't think you could ever lose your playfulness if you tried, no matter what age you turn. :)

  14. @ Iza, lol.

@ Gabby, girl, you are not helping my quarter life crisis!! lol

@ The Buxum and The Beautiful, I feel like I am starting to really discover who I am lately so you just may be on to something! I don't know anything about F21 shoes because these are from Avenue, lol I'm actually going to make a review about them soon so stay tuned!

@ Em, Sharon Stone is beautiful! Its comforting to hear you're take on aging. I hope, in time, your words makes my nerves a little less frazzled.

@ LaCara, Aw, thank you! I've actually been meaning to check out your blog for a while. I'll get right on it. :)

@ Dataman, LOL. My dad received that "big surprise" when he turned 50, too.

@ LuAnne, Thank you and happy birthday!

@ Taylor, I was wondering if anyone would bring up the car insurance/car rental thing. haha. I guess that is one plus to turning 25!

@ Gazel, thank you! I love the color of this skirt. Its so fitting for spring and summer.

@ Bianca, "25 is the first year of the rest of your life." I like that! And I do feel like a princess when I wear this skirt. Its just so whimsical, how could anyone not feel like a princess?!

@ fatheffalump, I hope I become as comfortable with my age as you did! I think I get so worked up about aging is because I haven't accomplished all I wanted to do. I always had a vision of what my life would be like at this age. To not be living the vision makes aging much more terrifying. Its just such a complex issue. I should make a more in depth post about it soon.

    @ Stephanie, girl, I feel you! <3

@ Fran, that is so sweet! I'm happy my smile brings a smile to your face. :)
